ShopRite Supermarkets, which operates stores throughout Westchester, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, Middlesex, Sussex and Union counties, today announced a donation of $200,000 to benefit three non-profit veteran organizations aiding service men and women and their families in the Metropolitan area.

Iraq-9The 2nd annual "Home of the Free because of the Brave" Radiothon has another successful donor drive!

The radiothon was held on August 28th and 29th of 2010 and aired live on Thunder 102 from the Villa Roma Resort and Hotel. Members of the Committee for Families of Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans worked side by side with volunteers from several businesses, Rotary and Lions clubs and friends from all over the Mid Hudson Valley to make the event a success. 

Thunder Radio broadcast the proceedings on Saturday till 5 pm and on Sunday until 1pm.

Francis_Currey_Day_006On July 3, 2010, many came to Morningside Park in Hurleyville to celebrate at The Francis Currey Day event which is held annually to honor our veterans and Local hero Francis Currey, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service in WW II.  There was lots of fun, music, food, dancing and fireworks.
